U21 A Championship Quarter Final Report   24/03/2014

Under 21 A Championship 1/4 Final - St Michaels 0-13 Bishopstown 0-11 @ Ballinlough

Report by Brian Hartnett

The Under 21s began their Championship campaign with a great win against a good Bishopstown side on Sunday in Ballinlough.

After 5 minutes, Bishopstown looked very up for this game when they went two points up without any reply.  It wasn't until the 8th minute that our lads really got going where they brought the game back to two a piece. After that, they never looked back as they led all the way up to the 41st minute when Bishopstown equalised and it brought the match to 8 points each.

This seemed to rally our lads on as they kept pulling away at vital times of the game, before eventually running out deserved winners and beating Bishopstown on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11. The fact Bishopstown only led once in this game shows how determined our lads were to get the win.

The whole team were fantastic and for me Alan Nolan in Centre Back was my man of the match, but the likes of Kevin O' Keeffe who scored 3 points from Corner Forward and David Meaney who scored 4 points from Centre Forward really made the difference.

Our Under 21s next day out is the Semi Final against Douglas. Date TBD
