St Michaels hosted Féile football yesterday, with our Under 14s joined by their counterparts from Cobh, Macroom, Wolfe Tones (Kanturk), Castlehaven and St Colmans (Cloyne/Shanagarry).

Our first game was against Macroom, and we had a very convincing win, 6 11 to 1 point. Our other group game was against Cobh, in which we went well ahead before letting them back into it but a final scoreline of 4 4 to two goals ensured we won our group.

Our playoff was against Castlehaven and this was a belter of a game. Despite playing against the breeze, we went in a point up at the half and kicked on after. The Haven rallied but at two points up and a minute to play, we looked like progressing. However, a free against us in our own half led to a Haven break and they goaled at the other end to win the tie by a solitary point, 5 4 to 3 9. Heartbreak for our lads but well done to Castlehaven, who never gave up despite trailing for large periods of the game.
